95 camry cru/control cancells when headlightts turned on
My cruise control started not working recently when the headlights are swicthed on. it works when the headlights are off. The only work I've done lately was to replace light bulbs in break lights.
What's more now when i turn off the car but the key is still in the ignition the dash lights will turn on if I press on the brakes. I never noticed that before. The lights were dimming when i pressed on the brakes but i put new battery clamps on and cleaned the posts and that seem to fix that.
any help would be appreaciated I can't figure it out and being a commuter c/c is nice.
Thank you

The cruise control will cancel if the brake is used. Now when you step on the brake the dash lights come on.
A wiring or other could be causing power to feedback into the dash console.
Suggest starting out by checking the wiring harness in the trunk where it goes from the chassis to the trunk lid. The wires can break, fray, etc and might be crossing circuits with other wires.
Also go back over the brake light wiring, bulbs, sockets, etc. Some brake bulbs are dual element sharing the same bulb with the tail lights. The wiring or even one bulb element can cross with the other inside the bulb.
