97 Camry Won't Start
Hello everyone I had to change a head gasket on a 97 camry and now I'm having trouble getting the motor to start. Its the 2.2 liter 4 cylinder, I have went through and checked and rechecked the timing belt, checked for spark, and fuel. Also rechecked all the vacuum hoses. When I turn it over it fires up a few times for a few seconds then it dies. It seems like it is getting way to much fuel to since the plugs are coming out all fouled up and wet. Any ideas on what might cause the injectors to give so much fuel like this?

Did the engine run before the head gasket replacement?
Does the engine have a separate fuel pressure regulator (on engine) or a combo fuel pressure regulator/pump in the tank? High fuel pressure can cause too much fuel.
MAP sensor system OK?
IAC valve OK? This controls bypass air for idle speed.
Make sure the fuel pump has not turned off?
Might also check the ign system, poor spark can cause incomplete ignition.
If the engine ran continuously before the head gasket replacement it is likely something was not reinstalled correctly.
Would suggest you again check the timing belt cam/crank alignment.
Make sure the cam and crank sensor are installed OK and the pickup area is clean.
