Default 99 camry remote programming

Hello all,

I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a 99 camry and the previous owner lost the remote so I ordered a Toyota brand remote from ebay and read many instructions. I was hoping to find a green button to program the remote but I couldnt see it under driver nor passinger seats. When I look under the steering wheel I see some boxes but couldnt see a button.

On the other hand, the instructions that came with the remote is below and there is no mirror switch on the door it is all close to the steering wheel so I am really confused.

Thanks in advance for help

Michel

FOR FACTORY INSTALLED KEYLESS ENTRY USE THIS PROCEDURE

1. With the key out of the ignition remove the mirror adjustment switch from door and unplug harness. Jump pin 2 to pin 10 on the mirror adjustment harness. When done correctly vehicle will automatically cycle the door locks to LOCK and then UNLOCK.

2. Press any button on first remote to be programmed. Door locks should automatically cycle again to show acceptance of remote.

3. Repeat step 2 for any remaining remotes to be programmed.

4. Once all remotes are programmed remove jumper wire and replace mirror adjustment switch. Test all remotes to ensure proper programming.

When they say mirror switch harness, that means I have to remove the mirror control ? (The one it has left and right written on it )

Second option is to find the unti theft box and press the green button, I looked under the dash but green button is so tiny tried with a pen - no response.

Thanks

Where is the mirror remote control on this car?

Take key out of ign then pry out remote control switch.

Wires to jump are violet and white/black.

Jump these wires. If programming is working the power lock doors will lock.

Depress and release any button on the remote.

If programming is working the power locks will lock again.

Disconnect jumper wire.

I got the same programming instructions as SPARTANPHD for my 1998 Camry. Didn't come with, had to go to remotesremotes website as instructed. I took the face plate for the window adjuster switch off (the dash) and pulled the plug. The #2 pin (hole) is blank. Guess i could try turning it upside down and using pins 1 & 9, but does anyone know for sure if a 1998 Camry is even equipped for remote access?
Thanks,
seven

cdlubbe at this link has the best explanation/analysis I've found:
1999 Camry LE Keyless Remote Programming Nightmare - Car Forums and Automotive Chat

Apparently, my 1998 Camry has neither the factory installed FCC ID: GQ43VT7T nor the dealer installed RS3000 security system - no receiver box under the seats and no security panel right of the interior light dimmer switch.

Guess I'l go down to Home Depot and have a couple of keys made.
