in my 96 camry lx 2.2 liter automatic my air bag light came on as well as my check engine light. i got the check engine light checked it said something about insufficent flow in the egr,that i can fix but how do i diagnose the airbag light,autozone or any other of the parts stores couldn't help. do i have to go to the dealer,i hope not.

 

needs the diagnostic scanner that has the toyota software to read and or clear
air bag faults

if air bag light is on and a chime ..air bag will not deploy

fault normally is the clock spring or seat belt restraint

an auto electrician and
some better equipped mechanical workshops will have that scanner equipment
and be able to fix the problem
if no luck asking them .... then yes a dealer

 

that's what i am afraid of. maybe i can go in on a saturday and catch a mechanic working on his own vehicle. i did it once before and it was free.

 

Shop around for a code reader capable of reading SRS codes.
