Default High RPM at idle

i have 02 toyota camry V6 car. Recently the battery was down and i need to replace the battery. i went to shop and after replacing battery the idle RPM was standing only 200 RPM. Then the mechanic who changed battery that it could be because of gas pedal so he tight the gas pedal and did some fixes around there so that car gained 800 RPM and started. after 3 day now when i cold start the car it is giving 3000 RPM at idle but when car is warmed the RPM around 1000. also when i shift the gear from parking to drive car gives high jerk (push) when i drive car and at 40 MPH even if i dont press gas pedal the speed remains around 35 - 40 (not in cruise mode). pls help me know what went wrong with me car and how to fix it. i shown to mechanic and he told that i need to replace accelerator pedal position sensor.

Did the engine idle OK before the battery change?

If so, disconnecting battery power can cause idle problems until the computer settles down. This can take 20 miles of driving or many engine starts.
