im changing the steering column on my ‘16 Camry. The column I got off eBay is not quite identical, but very close. The steering wheel has different controls. As I’m hooking everything up I found the this connector that clips into the ignition is different. The one from my car has 5 ports with 4 wires in it, and the one from the replacement column has 7 ports with 6 wires.
what I need to know is what are these wires for? Do I need this hooked up or can I get by without it? If I need it I can rewire the connector onto my current harness but would need some help with where to put the 4 wires. This is the connector. Bottom of ignition 4 wires on current harness connector are green, purple, light blue, purple The connector I need to use has 2 purple and 2 light blue. Does it matter which ports I put those color wires in? Meaning which of the 2 purple wires I replace with my 1 purple wire and same for the blue
