rpm's are going up . what as if a clutch is slipping ?
the mechanic found nothing wrong
rev spike on a left hand turn is not easy to diagnose
if it was a growling or clicking would be the Cv joints or hub bearings

is it a CVT transmission?
a hybrid ?
faulty pedal sensor
it is possible to have a dirty idle control valve (cleanable )
