Default '92 Camry transmission issue - low gears

I have a 1992 4 cylinder 2.2L automatic Camry. The car starts with no issue. When i shift into Drive it shifts rather hard. When the car shifts into second it is also a little hard. Every gear after that shifts smoothly. The car shifts into reverse fairly smooth as well.

I have recently replaced the trans. filter and added new fluid along with some Lucas trans. treatment. I am still having this problem.

The confusing part to this story is that after i have been driving for a few minutes the car shifts fine through the lower gears. Now what could possibly be causing this? Any suggestions and/or tips are welcomed.

Also, this is my first post

What condition was the drained fluid in, black, thick, etc?

If the fluid was not in good condition you might replace it all. If the pan is drained. 2/3 of the fluid is still in the torque converter.

Also check engine mounts.

Default fluid

The fluid was not in horrible shape. It was darker than new fluid but it did not smell burnt. Is the torque convertor something i could deal with myself? I'm going to look it up in my Haynes after work.

Also, i will check out the engine mounts

problem cause by worn internal seal .after trans worms up the seals expand to the normal shape and the fluid pressures goes back to normal , a worn seal when cold won't seal like it should ,this will cause hard shifting , some times a trans fluid conditioner will fix problem temporarily , i suggest save some $$ for a re-manufacture trans .
