Default Oil in Radiator overflow reservoir.

I'm happy to have found this forum and am hoping for some help.

This past July I had my 2001 Camry's engine rebuilt. Recently I discovered oil in my radiator overflow reservoir. I took it back to the shop that did the rebuild. They re-torqued the head bolts and told me to drive it a couple of days and see if the oil reappeared. My research is pointing to a blown head gasket or cracked head. I would appreciate any expertise, opinion or experience that someone has relating to this problem.

Thanks

I completely agree with your suspicions; oil should never show up in the radiator's overflow reservoir, and coolant should never show up in your crankcase. What you described in your post indicates seepage of oil into the cooling system, which tells me that there could be a cracked head in the motor. Since I am not there to see your car in person, I would recommend taking your car to either a Toyota dealership or another trusted mechanic to have your car's engine looked over.

Yep!! Blown head gasket or a cracked block or head.
