1991 Camry blower motor problems
Hi Everyone, first-time poster here. I am the fortunate owner of a 1991 Camry DX. It is in good condition with 146,000 miles. However, the blower motor died several years ago. After a lot of frutiless searches, I found the correct part on Ebay for $50 and my mechanic installed it. The part worked fine for 10 months. This past July, during a heat wave, it started to smell like something was burning when I ran the A/C. I have not used it since, and my mechanic is unwilling to remove the part and try to fix it.
So my question is, does anyone know of a mechanic in the NY/NJ/CT or even Northeastern PA area that specializes in older Toyotas, who could remove it and try to refurbish it - or perhaps build a new part? From talking with several car enthusiasts, it sounds like the problem is either wiring or lack of lubricant. It was very difficult to find the right part - it required researching most of the VIN number, because the part is different depending on where the car was manufactured. Mine was manufactured in either VA or NC (I cannot remember exactly which).
Part number on tag from Ebay is 615-58119, Stk #060085. The SKU # is R00110995. It does not have any extruding wires or plugs - it is a round flat metal piece and a white wheel-looking thing sits on top of it. I have the old white wheel saved as well.
Thanks in advance for any advice, referrals, etc. and please feel free to DM me. Other than this issue, the car runs great and I love it. I have had it since 1999 - before that it belonged to a family friend.
