2000 camry window problems
the driver's side window on my girlfriend's 2000 camry will go down normal, but will not come back up. If I only lower it about a quarter of the way, it will go right back up, but if I repeat this it will inch up a little at a time. Sometimes it takes as long as an hour just to get the window back up. I am wondering if it's the window motor or just something simple on the inside of the motor I've heard it could be either one. Thanks guys!
sure sounds like your window motor is going out....if you want to find out for yourself. remove the drives door panel and find the window motor..follow the wire from the motor till you come upto a connector.. now back prob the connector with your test light (it should be a connector with2 wires) and operate your window till the window stops working and look down on your test light...if the test light is still lit while you operateyour window switch up or down and the window glass doesn't move the motor is the problem. if the test light does not liight during window switch operation.. then its the switch or window wire harness circuit....9 times out of 10 its the motor.
allso be aware that the switch assem. used on these cars are not of heavy duty design. Check make sure the window rubber is in good shape not missing or come out of the track. I have replaced quite a few switch assemblies, the one on the drivers arm rest).

Toyoboy's got it right. The only other possibility is the rubber track for the window may need lubrication. The ONLY thing you should lubricate it with is silicone spray. I work at a shop that specializes in major services and that is something we do to any car getting our service. Honda's and Toyota's are especially known for having window trouble with weak motor symptoms if the rubber that guides and seals the window gets too dry. repost when you've fixed it so other readers will know.
