Default 2000 Radio has no power after disconnecting the battery

Recently I had to do some work on my 2000 4cyl and I disconnected the battery for it. The battery was disconnected for about a week while I changed timing belt, water pump, oil pan gasket, etc. After getting everything back together and test driving it, I just now noticed that the radio has no power to it, the buttons don't work and nothing is on the screen. I have checked all of the fuses and they are all fine. not sure what is going on, I have heard that there may be a security code on some radios but I don't have anything on the screen that would indicate that. It seams to just not have power running to it. My wife leaves for Florida from Michigan today and no radio would make this pretty rough. Can anyone help me with this? Radio #16814
Thanks

Look at the front panel of the radio for verbiage about theft prevention, etc. If there is something here then the radio has a security code system. Typically the theft system was for higher end stereo options not basic models. If a code is needed and you don't have it the dealer (for a fee) can reset the code.

The radio fuses are Radio No 1 and Radio No 2. One fuse is located in a fuse box in the engine compartment, the other in a fuse panel located behind the drivers side ash tray/coin box on the far left side of the dash. About where your left knee would be when driving.

I have checked both fuses and they are not blown. I know the car has an alarm system stock in it. not sure if it says anything on the radio though.

The radio only has the model # 16814 on it. nothing about an anti-theft or security system. could I still have a secured radio system? How do I get the display to show if it is secured so that I could enter a code, I have seen this on other posts.

As you know if the radio has a code system, it will set if when the battery is reconnected.

You state radio screen is blank when radio turned on but anything coming up when turned on such as "Code" or "Sec"?

Older cars used CigRadio and Dome fuses.

If you have access to the wiring, Radio No 1 fuse is Blue/Yellow wire (B+ HOT), Radio No 2 fuse is Gray (ACC powered by ign switch).

If horn works Radio No 1 fuse is getting power.

Check Power Outlet and Cig Lighter operation as both are on the same circuit that sends power to Radio No 2 fuse.

Alarm would be separate from radio unless some unusual setup.

Might call a Toyota dealer with and ask about code. Have the cars VIN number available as they use this to look up the code.

Do a search on the radio Number 16814 at sites such as Ebay. These sites state the radio has no code.

As such it may be a power issue. Check powered items in last post.

Test or swap good fuses with Radio 1 and 2.

Thanks again. I will try and trace down the power issue now that I know there is no security code. I will check the other fuses. I hope I did not burn anything up when i reconnected the battery.
