Default 2009 camry burning smell from electrical outlets

Hello all,
On occasion when I plug the GPS or the recharge my phone there is a burning smell. This happens with both electrical outlets. How do I trouble shoot? why doesn;t the fuse blow if there were to be a problem? Thank you for your assistance.

Might ask at the Toyotanation website.

Determine if the odor is from the outlet plug or the socket being plugged in, or someplace else.

There may be a common junction box for the ground wires of the outlets located behind the center console about where the radio is.

The ground point for the ground wires a little lower then this and to the drivers of console.

The fuse is located behind the drivers side ash tray.

Use the plug furthest from the above areas and determine if the odor is from the above areas.

The fuse is 20A (equals 240 watts), check the wattage of your electrical items.
