Default 2012 differential

This is my first front wheel drive vehicle, 2012 le. 2.5-wondering about the differential. Tranny change at 100k, oil at 10K syn. Nothing listed, do they change this when they change the tranny fluid? I'm at 41k now.

The dealer has a color chart to compare fluid color and determine condition of fluid.

The diff and trans share the same fluid chamber thus all changed at same time.

Default interesting

I didn't know they shared same chamber, I guess they expect it to go 100k like the tranny. I do mostly intown driving. When would u recommend checking?

When Toyota changed to synthetic fluid, the fluid change interval increased.

If your planning to keep the car for a long time, consider a complete change at 50K when convenient. The fluid will still be good. But worn out or dirty fluid is the No 1 cause of transmission problems. Why risk trans issues for a few dollars to change it.

The synthetic fluid will cost more (use only Toyota brand fluid or equivalent.
