I've read that the electrically powered cooling fan on the 2018 Camry is wired to be "Hot" all the time. And it can and does run with the engine turned off. Can anyone accurately confirm this? I have not heard mine do this. But it hasn't been driven long distances in hot weather yet. I would be fearful if it's true, that this could put quite a strain on the battery. I'm not seeing how it would do any good, unless the water pump was electrically powered as well. And pumped coolant through the engine as the fan ran. But this would drain the battery in no time. Comments?

 

Owners manual states fan will only run when ign switch or ign is ON, page 429.
