Default 85 camry LE AC Pulley issue

Need some help here. First time working on a Toyota and this one has been abused a lot but I am trying to help a friend keep her car running.

She asked me about the belts sqeeking and that's when I noticed that they only had a belt running from the crank pulley to the Alt Pulley. It has A/C and that pulley is cutting into the belt. The problem I see is that the A/C compressor pulley is not aligned with the crank or the Alt pulleys. Is there that much play in how the compressor can be installed or something else that I'm not seeing. I haven't botten under the car or see much more than what you see here. Looking for some help before I try and tear into it.

Is the A/C on a car that old even working? Usually the compressor mounting is non-adjustable and thereshouldn't bemuch slack on the pulley either. The only way to adjust the pulley is with a shim(s) on the pulley shaft to adjust the correct clearance of the clutch. You can try tightening the pulley or even adding/removing the shims. If she doesn't want A/C then why not just remove the compressor pulley or even the compressor?

I totally agree the brackets are fix, now if you want to realign it you have to provide a new bracket for the compressor you can ask a machine shop to make you one.
