Crank pulley bolt on 1992 Camry
I am trying to locate and turn the crank pulley on my 1992 4 cylinder camry. I have never had to do this on a I4 before, only on H4s. Anyways, I need to turn the crank pulley to inspect the flywheel teeth, but I cannot locate the bolt. I understand that the pulley is on the passenger side, and I see 3 pulleys. One is the alternator pulley, and there are 2 below it I believe. Could I use the bolt on the alternator?(easier to acces). If so , I dont think I have a socket big enough, and am wondering how large a socket I require...and also am wondering if I have to use the pulleys down below to turn, which I don't know how I can get to them..they are tight against the engine bay wall. thanks!
I seem to notice that maybe it is possible to access the crank pulley best with the passenger side jacked up, wheel removed? Behind the wheel, you can access it maybe?
Remove passenger tire. If you need more access to the pulley remove the inner fender splash shield held on by a couple of bolts. This shield is removed to pull the crank pulley off.
