93 Camry whining

I have a 93 Camry. It has started making a whining noise while accelerating. When I stop the car smoke comes from under the hood. It has a burnt smell to it.

Could be a bearing is going bad on an acc component such as alt and causing a belt to slip.

If the light is blinking, that means the the compressor is not rotating. Sounds like you have a failed field coil for the compressor clutch.
