Default Alarm Sounding and Ignition Disabled

I have an 02 Solara. Sudden rains flooded last night in the parking lot and flooded out the car. We pushed it out of the water after the alarm started sounding. We scooped all the water out of the floor. We disconnected the battery to stop the alarm. When we put the cable back on the car, it makes a high pitched sound. I guess it has disabled the ignition. There is no owners manual and we are stranded on an Air Force base. Anyone know what to do? Is there a reset switch or an on/off switch to disable the alarm?

Although I'm quite knowledgeable on car alarms, this one baffles me. But I've NEVER installed any alarms with the ignition interlock just for this reason: if the alarm malfunctions the car won't start. I can direct you to a site where you will almost for sure get your answer: www.the12volt.com they have tons of electical troubleshooting tips, wiring diagrams, and will even answer your question usually the same day. I've learned a LOT from this site. Hope it helps. And good luck!
