I have recently begun to do the oil changes on my GF's '01 Camry with the 1MZ-FE V6 and the position of the oil filter is giving me issues beause I always end up making a mess when I remove it.

What do you do to control and direct the torrent of oil that comes out when you remove the filter?

 

take a big piece of card board and put it under where the oil filter and oil drain plug is. if that don't work try moving the oil catch pan directly under the filter and put back the drain plug before u remove the oil filter. it take practice to do it right and don't rush anything.
