blowing AM2 30amp fuse, no start on 93 camry
My 93 camry will not start, it immediately blows the 30A AM2 fuse, also the check engine light does not light when key turned to on, i replaced the fuel pump with no change, the car still will not start, it appears that whatever is causing the fuse to blow is the culprit, any help?

Looking at Haynes wiring diagram (no FSM wiring diags.)all I can see is your starter might be drawing too many amps. I would take it to a shop and have a load test done, unless someone else here has some other idea.

There seems to be a widespread problem with melted radio noise-suppression capacitors
inside the distributor (under the coil on non-California models). It shorts out and causes the fuse to blow. You can just clip off the wire lead from the capacitor to the coil terminal and leave it like that. Today, I've been replacing an ignition coil on a friend's 1994 Camry. The capacitor wasn't shorted out but the green insulation compound on it was melted, so I clipped the wire before installing the new coil. The car is running again and the radio sounds same as before.

The capacitor blows a 30amp fuse?
Edit: After doing additional searching I found out that indeed a faultycapacitor can blow the AM2 fuse.I would just recommend replacing the capacitor rather than cutting it out of the circuit.

Yep, that capacitor can short the coil's positive feed to the ground. It sure is better to replace
it than eliminate but this happened on a weekend, as usual, and
only a dealer would have them in stock. Guess I could have adapted a generic replacement
unit or one from RadioShack, but I worried mostly about getting this car, previously unfamiliar
to me, back on the road. The capacitor was only melted, but the coil resistance was
out of specification.
