Exclamation Engine Stuttering When Idle

A month ago my car started stuttering whenever idling at red lights. After some experimenting I found out that I need to keep her over 750 RPM to prevent it at red lights, so I'm sitting there with my foot on the brake and the gas whenever I have to stop somewhere.

What can be done to fix this?

Thanks!

Sounds like it's in need of a basic tune-up. Failing that, you may want to try cleaning out the throttle body with some carb cleaner and plenty of clean rags. I was having a similar problem (i.e. rough idle), and after cleaning the throttle body this past weekend, it's running 100% better.

Good luck!

If its "stuttering" due to low idle speeds, there's not much that can be done to raise the idle speed aside from cleaning out the throttle body as previously mentioned. Do you have a fast idle in the morning? Does the idle speed kick up when the AC is on? If not- you may have a failed IAC valve (idle air control).
