Default Foggy windshield & windows

On my 97 Camry, the windshield and windows fogs up a lot. The windshield and windows are always foggy when it is cold outside or when it rains. I have the defroster & heat on and it does not help out a lot. It is sometimes so bad that I have to wipe with the windshield and windows so I can see. Any ideas why the windshield and windows always fog up so bad?

I forget the science theory for it

The inside temp of the car is colder than the outside temp
or the other way around

So it fogs

Sometimes air con directed onto the windshield can clear fog quicker in rainy conditions..than the heater

Yes, turning on the AC with defrost should make short work of a foggy windshield.
Be sure that your floor boards are nice and dry and that there is no water leaking into the car.
My A/C drain tube got pushed up through the floor board and the unit would drain condensation onto the passenger side foot well. The carpet got soaked and the windows would fog up in the heat.

Unfortunately the AC does not work. I added some freon and the AC is turned on but the clutch doesn't come on. About how long does it take for the clutch to cycle? Should it cycle when the freon is being added?

If the clutch is not engaging
Not enough gas pressure in the sealed system
Leaks ?
Or the clutch ac /compressor
has a problem

Maybe time for a A C workshop inspection to sort it out

I have found that the water that commonly builds up in the LH side well of the trunk can be the cause. Check to see if you have any water in that area, if so punch out the drain plug and leave it out. Does your car have a sunroof? If so, the drain can get clogged and leak water onto the floor.
