How to tighten PS belt?

Default How to tighten PS belt?

i just replaced my belts and it seems my Power steering belt slips and makes a VERY loud and annoying screeching noise on 4k+ RPM is there any way to tighten this thats possible? not alot of wiggling room around there...

It's best done down from the wheel well where there's a bunch of room. Once the spash shield is off, just loosen the adjustment lock bolt, use a prybar between the block and the power steering pump to tighten the belt slack- then lock it back down. This applies to both the V6 and the 4cyl Camry.

oh and thats with the apron off right?> a bit tight in there with y 5sfe but i guess with some short ratchets it can be done. So let me get this strait:

Loosening the adjustment bolt is all you'll need to do after taking the apron off. From there, you can use a prybar to push the pump outwards to apply more tension to the belt.. then retighten it. Good Luck! Excellent illustration btw!
