Default IAC issues.

My hubby wanted me to post this so here it goes. He had a 99 2.2 and it died on the road. It would crank then start and idle but as soon as you tried to accelerate the car would die. So he googled it and 15 minutes later he was operable. He said he removed the IAC valve and the little hat on the TB was stuck in one position. he put some brake cleaner and PB Blaster to free it up then tested it. Car worked fine. Today my son has his old 95 which was given to him. It would not start. If you put you foot on the accelerator it would stay at 1500-4000 rpm but as soon as you let up it would die. Its the exact opposite of the 1st time we has an issue with drive ability. Just for ****s and grins he removed the IAC and is was stuck just like the 99. He cleaned it and VIOLA, running fine. So his point was do not think its a fuel pump issue (remember it only gets power when the engine is cranking or running). Thanks for looking

Great job! Thanks for posting.

Suggest in the future using a cleaner safe for plastics as brake fluid may be a bit to harsh.
