Default Motor Cuts out at Full throttle?!?!

Hey guys. New to the site. Gotta say, really like this forum. A ton of info I've already used

I have this 92' Camry Sport 5spd and when I tromp on it in first and second gear, it'll spin up to 3-3500 rpm and cut out completely, come back and then cut out again (constantly)?? It doesn't seem to do it in 3rd and 4th on the hwy, just 1st and 2nd. Is there a hidden traction control I don't know about, or is it a little gremlin that's pulling off my coil wire??!! [:@]

I've checked the coil and MAF sensor and they'reboth good. Getting a bit ticked with it right now

I'm a bit perplexed!! Any idea's? Any help is appreciated

Thanks Dale

It appears that you have a fuel restriction which shows up at high rpms and high load. It will probably be more evident going up hill when you need more gas to produce more power. When was the fuel filter replaced last? Another possibility would be a restriction in the fuel lines or gas tank. Firsteasy fix would be a new fuel filter. The fuel pump/pressure regulator may also not be producing enough pressure for high load but you'll need totest the pressure with a gauge. A fuel restriction will also show up as reduced pressure so it may take a bit to see what is causing what.

Years ago someone put sugar in my gas tank. Sugar does notdissolve in gasand is hard to visibly detect. It clogged the filterand not until I changed the filter and flushed the tank didthe problem go away.

If a new filter solves the problem but it reappears, then youmay need to flush the gastank.
