I've noticed in a '99 and a couple of '95's that the passenger door lock won't auto lock. This seems to be a common problem. Anyone aware of the cause and solution?

 

Do not know about common.

The Camry and perhaps other Toyota have an issue with the wiring between the drivers door and chassis breaking due to usage. This causes door lock and window problems.

 

The windows work fine but the door lock slowly lost it's ability to function. I used to be able to push the lock button twice and it would lock it. Eventually not even that would work.

I mentioned, this is the case on three Camry's that my family owns and I've talked to others who have also experienced that problem. My family's vehicles are very well cared for. Seems very strange for a Toyota quality product.
