Default Poor Fuel Mileage....

I can use some ideas! I have a 2003 Camry 4cyl with 97K. I recall getting very good gas mileage when I bought it some 5 years ago. The fuel mileage seemed to have decreased fairly suddenly. I am now getting 18-20 mpg around town and 22-24 highway. I have changed plugs ( iridium ), both oxygen sensors, cleaned MAF sensor and throttle body. Scan tool shows no codes. I'm sure it should be getting better fuel mileage. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.......

Are you using the cars MPG computer to determine MPG? If so determine MPG by gallons filled and miles.

Has the gasoline fuel mix at the pump changed, as in more ethanol for winter usage? This can drop MPG.

Try another gas station/brand as the station may have changed the mix without stating so, or is are now receiving fuel which is not blended properly resulting in more alcohol.

Might check the coolant temp sensor for computer. If bad the engine can be stuck in cold operation mode.

To remind you some common habit of better driving like hypermilling and making sure the correct tire pressure, these always makes a difference.
