power window switch blinking
the power window buttons are flashing. all of them. I can operate the drivers door from the drivers side, passenger doors from their respecitve sides. the driver cannot operate the other windows from his control panel.
the lockout button works and when pressed or cycled on/off, will change the timing on the blinks. so if I start the car all the lights are blinking in at the same time, same intervels, no pauses. If I toggle the lock out swithc, the lights will still blink, no pauses, same intervals, but not at the same time. kinda like when the school band misses a beat.
everything else works great. its a used dealer who will be taking it to the toyota dealer for repair before we sign papers. but I was curious as to if this was a common thing or something that indicates a larger problem that I need to be wary of. this will be my first toyota and i hope will last as long as what i have been told to expect.

I can't help.
The newer models run the controls through a computer. I skimmed over the service info, it appears to require a Toyota diagnostic device to trouble shoot.
Guessing it might be a programming problem. These systems can be programmed to do a lot of different things with the windows. Might check the owners manual fro programming info.
If still under warranty, yes have the dealer check it out.
Have then explain what the problem was and if you could have caused by back doored youself into the problem by inadvertently a combination controls such as window buttons, key FOB, etc.
And if you could have fixed it by pressing some buttons, using the key FOB, etc.
Have the dealer explain any programming options for window operation and if it possible for the owner to set them or somehow disturb them.
Get as much info as one day the car will be out of warranty.

Cool. Thanks for the help. I did stumble on to the following and it worked.
I did the steps below. it does not state it, but the procedures has to be done from the respective window switch / door. after doing each window, that window's auto down started working again - if that makes any sense.
Again, thanks for the advice and offering to help.

NOTE:
Anytime the battery terminal has been disconnected, please initialize the driver’s door
power window and front passenger’s door power window after reconnecting the
battery terminal.
With ignition switch in the “ON” position, do the following:
1. Push down and hold the driver’s door power window switch to completely open
the window.
2. Pull and hold up the driver’s door power window switch until the window closes.
Continue holding the switch for approximately one second until the switch changes
from blinking to a constant illumination.
3. Check for proper operation of the “one–touch open and close” function by fully
pushing the switch briefly to the “DOWN” and “UP” positions.
At this time the power window switch for the passenger’s door window should
be blinking.
4. Push down and hold the passenger’s door power window switch to completely open
the window.
5. Pull and hold up the passenger’s door power window switch until the window closes.
Continue holding the switch for approximately one second until the switch changes
from blinking to a constant illumination.
