Smile Quest for my 88/89 wagon...options

I looked at a '88 wagon this weekend, 4cyl motor was perfect with more power than expected but on the road there were sounds i didn't like when it shifted up, and bushing bad in rear and maybe front axle issues plus a/c compressor was shot. had a repaired damage to front quarter with misaligned hood so front end could be off, drove nice though and sure want to find a good one. This guy drilled holes through roof and headliner to mount a surfboard rack, tacky? It was a LE with aluminum wheels with good interior it had a factory alarm plus cruise control and wondered if it was standard with the LE. Seller said when touching the key to door lock it used to lite up but didn't work. Had vanity mirror visor lites, electric windows and door locks. I suppose some of this stuff was extra on the LE, only thing missing was a sunroof which i'd like. I had no idea that Toyota camry was such a nice car when i first started looking, just was thinking economy but pleasantly surprised, search continues

good point you made

camrys only have toe in adjustable front end caster is zero
once the front chassis gets a hard bender castor has to be questionable

cvs and bushings can be damaged in a side hit

Agree it appears to be a lot of work.
