Default Timing retards when jumper is removed

1992 Camry 2.2 liter - - After setting the timing to 10 degrees btdc with the jumper (E1 to TE1) I remove the jumper and it should go up (12 degrees to 22 degrees) But instead it drops to 5 degrees btdc.
Why would it do this? and what problems could it cause?

After jumper is removed timing should move between 0 and 10.

According to my manual it should move between 12 btdc and 22 btdc.
If you are correct then it is OK.

Info per Camry shop manual.

If engine idles and runs OK, then timing should be OK.
