torque converter issue camry 2012-2014: does it affect V6?
Hi, i'm thinking about buying a used camry xle 2012 v6. I was advised about the torque converter issue happening in the year 2012 to 2014. However, I don't believe the V6 has ever been involved in the extended warranty thing, only the 4 cylinder, so I am wondering if that means V6 is somehow made differently so that TC is not a problem? Anybody who owns a V6 from these years with a good number of miles see any issue? I googled and only see two V6 owners complained so I don't know if these are just isolate incidents.
I understand I can check to see if there is any issue with the car now but from what I understand the TC can act up much later on (the car I'm looking at only has 60k miles) so that's why I'm concerned.
On a side note, this car is $14K. should I spend more to move up to 2015-2017 (I don't know of any significant issue with these years, but then I'm not very informed)
Many thanks for any insight
