Default traction control

we had 8" of snow and the plow had not come by so i could not get up our hill. TC kept kicking in. could not spin tires enough to get rolling. finally decided to turn off TC and got enough wheel speed to start moving. all my other FWD cars had no trouble on the hill. i knew the turanza el400 tires were going to be trouble this winter.

This may be normal operation.

Thought the system prevented wheel slippage by applying the brake on wheel(s) that was slipping. Unfortunately this braking can prevent the car from moving.

Some owners do as you and turn the system off in these situations.

Default traction control

I have a 02 2500hd sierra with no cruise control. I was told that all i would have to do is by a the switch with cruise and plug it up and it should work. Is that true?
