1998 fuel pump low voltage
hello all
I am new to the forum , so thank in advance for any and all help
1998 LE 2.2
car was running fine. I turned it off, it sat for about 35 min and when I went to start it i had crank but no start.
found that the fuel pump was not working. I verified that all relays and fuses are in working order so I replaced the fuel pump.
Pump is still not working. I tested the voltage at the pump and found only 1 volt during cranking.
I went to jump FP and B+ to send power directly to the pump and I found that the FP location had no wire in it??
I disassembled the test connector thinking that the wire somehow got pulled into the harness but I found no wire??
I am thinking that I have a ground out somewhere in the wire path?? Maybe???
any help that I can get will be much appreciated!!

Could be a bad fuel pump relay.

Toyota eventually eliminated the FP terminal in the black box.

Thanks for the info. That missing wire3 had me stumped
I have checked / replaced the relays with no help. any other suggestions'??

Does the car have an immobilizer?
Check 5A IGN and 15A EFI fuses.
The EFI relay needs to be powered to close that relay switch and send power to the fuel pump relay switch. This switch then closes to complete the circuit to power to the pump.
Remove the relays and check voltages and grounds at the socket terminals.
One fuel pump socket wire goes to the pump +12V.
One to ECU-Solenoid. The computer grounds the wire to complete circuit..
IGN fuse. Hot with ign on.
EFI relay switch
For the EFI relay terminals.
EFI fuse to relay switch
EFI relay switch to fuel pump switch +12V power
Ground wire to solenoid
This wire depends on immobilizer or not
