Default 96 Toyota with airbag light on

My 96 Camry's airbag light came on after a fuse blowout in the electrical system. Can I reset it myself or a 3rd party do it?

Might try this.

Inside the engine compartment is a small black plastic box labeled "Diagnostic". Could be located on one of the chassis areas where top of the strut bolts to the chassis. You should be able to see the box when standing and looking into the engine compartment.

Inside the box are electrical terminals.

Connect a length of electrical wire to each of the following terminals, Tc and AB.

Turn ign key to ACC or On and wait 6 seconds.

You are the going to be alternatively grounding each of the wires to the chassis starting with the Tc wire. This done over a number of cycles. Make sure ground point on the chassis is clean or paint, etc to make a good ground.

Starting with the Tc wire. Ground this wire for 1/2 second, then remove from ground and immediately ground the AB wire for 1/2 second.

Repeat the process. This is the second ground cycle for the Tc wire.

The 3rd time you go to ground the Tc wire, keep it grounded after the 1/2 seconds has passed. Do not ground the AB wire. With the Tc wire grounded wait several seconds. After a few seconds the airbag light should now be flashing at a steady rate.

Unground the wire and determine if the airbag light now works normally.
