Default Camry battery change not so simple.

Hey, I am sort of new to this, but I had an issue with me Camry you all might be able to help me with. I just changed the battery. Simple enough, but every time I hook up the battery, the headlights and horn blows like the alarm is going off, It is a 1999 Camry XLE with the Toyota VIP alarm system. I have already tried using the fob which doesn't work. Also tried turning the key on and off 5 times to no avail. Is there any easy way to disconnect this system before I connect the battery? I am dead in the water even though my car runs fine. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Are you sure this is a Toyota VIP alarm? You stated headlights flash? This system is supposed to flash the running lights.

The alarm will go off if the battery is disconnected and reconnected.

When alarm goes off, try pressing FOB top button twice.
OR
Try inserting ign key and turning to ON, then ACC and back to ON.
