Default Gear indicator lights on instrument cluster

Hi! The gear indicator lights on the instrument cluster of my 1995 Camry LE are newly replaced but some lights, particularly the most used R and D, would light up intermittently whenever i shift gears. Is there something that needs to be cleaned or fixed in the contact points of the shift **** mechanism itself? Please advice. Thank you!

The lights are controlled by a rotatory switch located on the trans housing gear shift lever output shift. Each light has its own switch contact.

The switch could be the problem or wiring. If you think it's the switch replace it or clean the contacts. There may be links on the internet about how to disassemble and clean the contacts or at least be able to inject contact cleaner.
