Need Urgent Help/Advise
My 98 Toyota Camry LE V6 shows the following signs on the dashboard
1. Malfunction Indicator Lamp
2. Low Oil Pressure Warning Light
3. Discharge Warning Light
The lights are on only when the Car Key is in "ON" position, but goes off when I turn on the ignition. I checked the Toyota Camry manual and it says that this is a problem only when the light comes up during driving, but does not mention anything about it when the light comes, when the Key is in "ON" position.
I changed the oil recently, and thought the lights would go off, but that didn't have any effect on those lights.
As such the car is running smooth but now I'm worried whether there are any serious problem with the car or the components? It just went past the 120K Mileage and the 120K service is pending from my side. Could that be the cause of this? Any quick help is really appreciated.

so when the car is actually on and ur driving the lights are not on.
then its fine.
are you new to cars? all cars have the warning lights on when the ignition is on but the car is not started. the reason for this is to kind of let u know that the car isnt started...and the lights are on too cos the computer reads that there are issues with the system because things arent running. but once you get the car started they should all go away because the computer then recognizes that the systems are now running and in proper functioning order.
so it sounds to me like you have no problems whatsoever.

ah no problem.
just remmeber...any lights come on while driving then you should be concerned, but even if they do, most of the time you can keep on driving. the only time when you really need to stop is when you see flashing lights. for example, the check engine light can turn on but it can be a pretty minute problem that really wont affect your driving, but if that light begins to flash, its time to pull on over and turn it off and get it towed.

The warning light errors have the meaning of them.
1. Malfunction Indicator Lamp : You need to know the error code by using the ODB reader
2. Low Oil Pressure Warning Light : Either the sensor or check oil levelbypull out the oil dipstick.
3. Discharge Warning Light : You may have the charging system problem. You can take the battery or the alternator to the auto part store for free testing.
