Default Is it possible to manually get window raised while the motor does not working?

Good afternoon Gentlemen,

My car's rear passenger's window does not work. Its current position is down. It might be cause by motor problem. I just wonder how can get it raised manually without repair it. I will not get it down anymore.

Would anyone tell me if it is possible? Any advise would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

What year of car?

Is this the only window that does not work?

You need to remove the door panel. Then disconnect the motor drive and manually raise the window. Then either try to reengage the motor or block the window closed with a stick.

If you think the motor is OK. Unplug the motor wiring from the switch. Apply 12V to wiring to motor plug. Reversing polarity to the motor wiring reverses the motor direction and window up/down.

Default Thanks for you replay

It is 2003 Camry. One passenger window cannot go up. All other 3 windows works well.

So, even the window was raised manually, it still new some stick tape to hold it from dropping down, is my understanding correct?

Thanks!

If the problem window can go down but not up check power window wiring. The wiring between the drivers door and chassis can break over time with flexing during door opening and closing.

Check Green/Black wire.

Not stick tape but a stick as in wood, plastic, etc. The motor gear needs to be disengaged to allow the window regulator to move the window up. The motor gearing would typically hold the window regulator up.

Would be a good idea as the door locks will still be powered.

I tried to uninstall the power switch, but found the switch is hard to unplug. Please see the picture.
Any advise would be appreciated.

The plug must have a press or pull to release locking mechanism.

You can leave it plugged in the remove the door panel and work around it to move the window up.
