Struts for Camry 2007-LE
Last visit to work shop; i was told to have the struts replaced as it has been more than 60k miles and should be replaced.
Toyota Camry 2007, LE
Millage: 73K
I wanted to know
What are the suggestions in terms of struts change, that better to go to Toyota or pep boys or local mechanic.
How much will it cost for all 4 struts.
What are the recommended names of best struts for camry 2007 LE?
Thanks

Were the struts inspected or replacement based on mileage? Don't know the condition of your struts but strut replacement is a money maker for shops.
How is the ride, bouncy, is the car body swaying, etc.
Unless having a advise leaking problem (some leakage is OK) struts can last 100K plus miles.
As to costs, Toyota may charge $1200 for all 4, Pep boys less but still not cheap.
Might get quotes from a local mechanic.
Toyota will use Toyota parts, the other shops their parts. They may frown on you bringing your own parts as they need to warranty the work plus the can buy the parts wholesale and sell to you retail.

I agree with Toyomoho. It sounds as though they are basing it on the mileage of your car. A simple and crude test is to push down on a corner of the car and get it bouncing a little. Stop bouncing the car and it should level off almost instantly to regular ride height. If the car keeps bouncing, then you probably need a strut in that corner. Check all four corners.
