Hello i took my car to the dealer and they told me its my torque converter their charging me 2500 to fix it . They had a recall for this but my warranty was for 8 year which they already pass or 150, 000 which ever come first .my car only has 84 ,000 milages its their anything i could do help please

Its not a recall but an extended warranty offer. The extended warranty only becomes applicable if the car owner complains there is a problem, as stated in the warranty, and the dealer confirms first. No complaints, no problem = no warranty coverage.

A recall normally would not have a time or mileage cut off because it was safety related.

Your car is too old to qualify for these extended warranty offer..

A dealer can, if they want to, do repairs on a goodwill basis but this is up to the dealer. You could appeal to Toyota Corp via their customer service venue. Sometimes Toyota or the dealer will offer to cut the cost down as in the car owner pays half. There is no obligation to fix the car for free.

The dealer is typically the most expensive place for repairs although the quoted price is not that bad. Try third party repair shops. Whatever you do make sure the problem is as told to you. It happens here that a new converter is not the issue.

Don't know your details but Toyota had both transmission and transmission software issues.
