Default 1986 Camry has bad front end shake

I noticed it shaking bad at all speeds so I checked the tires and they were good but did notice that the mounting nuts for my inner cv joints attaching to the transmission are missing all but one on both sides. So I replaced them with new nuts and lock washers and it cured the problem. But after driving for about a week the shake is slowly coming back and the nuts are coming loose again. I torqued them down to specs the first time so I’m wondering if I need flanged nuts that were originally on it or is it something else?

The washer may allow too much bolt movement.

Find some flanged lock nuts.

Make sure the axle flanges mating surfaces are clean, flat, etc/
