Brake pad wear

Rear brake pads had to be replaced at 70k miles. Front pads still have half of pad remaining. Is this normal or is something wrong with the brake system? It is a 2004 XLS. Bought it new and have not had any problems.

70K is not bad for either front or rear pads.
