clunking noise in front brakes

thanks for the advice on not using wd-40. Just spoke with the warranty peeps, calipers are covered but not the sliding pins. Might have to take it to dealer, wouldn't want to screw up any warranty on the caliper. Any tampering will screw it up.

Usually I just clean up those pins and then apply fresh lube. I wonder what is exactly wrong with them that makes them defective? Are they not the correct diameter and thus cause too much play? I've just never heard of it is all.

went to toyota dealer today to ck brakes, said everything is ok, pads just shifting-just the way it's made-no fix. Said new pads wouldn't help. I don't know if I can put up with this noise. I thought camry was a quiet car!

I responded to you other post before reading this one so see what I wrote there. I think you should get a second opinion. Pads shouldn't shift, I managed an auto shop that specialized in brakes and having brake noise is unacceptable. Is there another dealer in town?
