Guys, I have a 1993 V6 LXE, I'm going to pop on some new front rotors (got the brake shimmy going on) and new pads.

I am getting some opinions from the parts houses.

One guy says to use Akebono ceramic pads, which I know is an OEM brand for many Toyota parts, so they're pretty good quality. Another guy said the Centric pad is same material as the Akebono, but half the price, works exactly the same he said.

Comments about that?

Has anybody actually used either Akebono or Centric ceramic pads and seen how they perform? I don't want to use semi-metallic pads because they work crappy when cold and I hate that. The ceramics stop pretty well from the get-go even on a cold morning.

And also, I'm thinking Brembo Rotors. I've used them on other cars, had good luck with them. Pretty cost effective at $38 ea wholesale.

comments? Other/better suggestions on either the pads or rotors?

Brembo plain rotors (not drilled or slotted) are fine.

Akebono and Hawke make quality pads. No nothing about Centric.
