Default 2012 Camry cranks but won't start

My 2012 Camry all of a sudden won't start. I noticed a couple of times before this happened it ran rough at first on start up like it wanted to kill. Now anytime I attempt to start even with starting fluid I have no ignition. After leaving the key on the on-position I hooked up a code reader to it and it's showing a P0303 code. Code this be a camshaft position sensor that has failed and is preventing ignition? The car only has 75,000 miles on it as of now.

P0303 is for a misfire on cylinder 3. There is a long list of issues that can generate this code.

The timing sensor code is different. A bad sensor could cause the engine not to start. Any other codes?

Check for ign spark.

No other codes present other than the P0303. I changed out camshaft position sensors and that didn't do anything. I'm going to check for spark this evening, if I get spark what should I check next?

@toyomoho I checked the spark today and its getting spark. Fuel would spray out of the open spark plug hole a bit when we turned it over. So its getting spark and getting fuel not sure what the next thing to check would be.

Check the timing, at least rule it out...

You did state you saw fuel but I would test the fuel pump for output and pressure. There may be a fitting on the fuel rail to hook up a gauge. Places such AutoZone my loan the tool.

A stuck open EGR valve can cause non-start.
