hey guys, i was just sweeping through the forums and found this. im actually changing out the audio in my 2002 Camry(5th gen). i was doing research my model has 6 stock speakers: (2)3.5" speakers on the dash[under the windshield], (2) 6x9" shallow mounts in the front door panels[although replacing them with aftermarket speakers is impossible without modifications due to the unusual cut-out left by removing the stock], and (2) 6x9" in the back behind the seats.
so i did some digging and i ordered a pair of 3.5" speakers to replace my current ones and im hopeful that they have the correct placement of screw holes to fit the factory. the door panels are the tricky part in which i believe i will either have to order some adapters(How do I install stereo, speakers, subwoofer, amplifier, tweeters ipod in my Tacoma Toyota) or use some left over MDF board to change it to a 6.5" round speaker. and i believe the rear 6x9s are replaced without mods.
just sharing some info about the camry, hope this helps.
