Default 99 Camry Rear Suspension Crossmember Subframe Question

Hello! First post here! I have acquired a '99 Camry and the only major issue at the moment is that the Rear Crossmember Subframe needs replaced. I am not a mechanic, but I am an "ok" do it yourself guy. I have the new part on hand, and I have been using penetrant on the bolts. Despite this, I have sheared off the rear most bolt attaching the crossmember to the car at the outset. It was very rusted, and not much metal was holding it in place anyway.

My question is, is this replaceable with regular tools? The place I bought the new part from said that those bolts are attached (welded) to the frame. Seems I now need someone with welding skills?

Anyway - I may just take it to the shop, but I wanted to get your input first. Is this bolt something that can be backed out and replaced? Or should I just take it to the shop and bite the bullet?

Thanks for your time and any references / advice you can provide. I look forward to perusing the site and learning!

-Tommy

Pretty rusty - not sure I can get it off without shearing more bolts. This was taken before I started hitting it with penetrating oil.

The bolt I sheared is the one attaching the subframe to the frame in the upper left corner of this photo.

Are you talking about a bolt in one of the legs of the frame.

Would assume as you stated the the nut is spot welded to the frame.

If the bolt broke off it might be possible to drill a hole in the remaining bolt still attached to the nut. Then use a broken bolt extractor which installs into the hole.

But first need to do something to help free the remainder of the bolt from the nut. Perhaps heat from a torch. If penetrating oil it needs to get to the nut.

If your not up to this, might take the car to a shop while you still have it in one piece.
