Default Stumped

Was driving one day when my car just turned off as I was driving. Someone said fuel pump. Put new on and nothing. Sometimes it clicks when trying to start sometimes it does nothing s, sometimes you can’t turn the key or put it in gear or anything. At a loss!

Year of car and engine type?

If the engine is not cranking over and only clicks there could be issues with the battery, battery cables, battery connections, etc. This could result in the engine quitting.

Try moving wiggling the steering wheel when trying to turn the key. The key needs to be turned and brake pedal pushed to move the shifter plus there needs to be electrical power to the car.
