V6 engine swap info needed
I bought a 94 camry that needs a motor. I found a 95 avalon (3.0l V6) in the junkyard and was told that the motor would work. My question is would it be plug and play or would I have to change sensors or accessories or anything? Do I need to remove the tranny when doing the swap? Is there a writeup somewhere I can read? And any helpful info would be appreciated I plan on doin the swap this weekend hopefully I can knock it out in a day

Don't no if this would be a 100% plug and play swap.
They are almost the same car, the V6 engines and trans models are the same model.
One issue is Toyota built cars to meet either California (CAL) or Federal (FED) emissions. There is a sticker under the hood stating which spec the car was built to.
Typically there are differences between CAL and FED emission cars such as exhaust emissions equipment, engines sensors, engine computer, injectors, maybe even different cylinder heads. Can not state for sure what the differences would be for the V6. If there are differences the computer for the car will be specifically programmed to these changes.
Another issue is Toyota was changing the onboard diagnostic system for some Toyota models. This was a system that was not fully ODBII compliant but after the Toyota based diagnostic system (not sure of the name).
The systems appear to the same for 1994 Camry V6 and Lexus ES300 cars and for 1995 Camry with V6 and Avalon. This newer system introduction could have resulted in changes in sensors, etc.
Mixed in with the above is Toyota may have just modified the emissions systems between years and models to meet new regulations, improve performance, etc.
The trans is the same.
Suggest you check out if the two cars were built to the same emissions spec. Then look at both engines for any visible changes.
One other suggestion is to use whatever means (swap parts) to get the replacement engines wiring for sensors, etc. the same as the old motor or you will have problems such as the check engine light coming on.

So my 2001 Toyota Camry engine is down and I’m looking for used engines but wandering if it’s possible to install a v6 instead of a 4 cylinder or should I stay with the 4 cylinder, cause my car is a project car or is going to be and I wanna make it fast, loud and awesome.
Possible as in its a part swap only, but may not be practical as in the swap take a lot of parts.
